Our position
What we believe, and what we refuse to do to your business
Every belief below maps to something the product actually does. The last section is the part most vendors leave out: where Groww POS is currently behind.
- Your terminal, your rate
- No marketplace fees, ever
- Gaps stated in public
“Keep your terminal. Keep your rate. Keep every feature.”
The claim survived a competitor review that killed the previous one. It is specific enough that a rival could disprove it — and narrow enough that they cannot.
Eight beliefs
-
01
The terminal on your counter is yours
Groww POS runs on the Dejavoo or PAX you already own, against the merchant account you already have, at the rate you already negotiated. Software should not be a reason to re-apply for payment processing.
-
02
No feature is held hostage to our rails
Deposits, cards on file, self checkout — these are product features, not levers to move your processing. Platforms that allow an outside processor and then withhold features have not really allowed it.
-
03
A tender is a tender
Gift card, loyalty and split tender settle in the same sale as the card. Treating them as bookkeeping notes tells a clinic, a PT practice or a family salon that their clients are someone else's problem.
-
04
Your clients are not our audience
There is no consumer marketplace here, so there is nothing to sell them and no commission when they book again. The relationship is between you and them.
-
05
The end of day should take minutes
Services, retail, tips, deposits, drawer sessions and every tender close into one ledger. A close that needs a spreadsheet is a design failure, not a fact of life.
-
06
Say plainly what is not built
The roadmap page names the gaps, and so do the feature pages that have them. Nobody should discover a missing feature during their first busy Saturday.
-
07
No contracts, no hostages
No long-term contracts or vendor lock-in, and your data exports on request. The reason to stay should be that the software is good.
-
08
Ten kinds of business, properly
Salons and barbershops, spas, nail studios, massage, med spas, fitness, tattoo, tanning, physical therapy and pet grooming — modelled rather than stretched to fit one template.
Belief three, in tender form
The tender list is the part of this argument that can be checked against a terminal rather than taken on trust.
Credit
Chip, swipe and tap
Debit
PIN on the terminal
Gift card
Issue, redeem, ledger
Loyalty
Points redeemed at checkout
Where we are currently behind
These will come up in any serious evaluation. Reading them here first is better for both of us than finding them in week three.
The customer app is younger than theirs
Clients can now book, see their points, their membership and their package balances in the Groww Customer App on iPhone, Android and the web. What they cannot yet do there is enrol into a class, join a waitlist or spend a gift card — three things both category leaders have had for years. They are next, and they are on the roadmap.
The POS itself runs on a tablet
The staff and customer apps run on iPhone, Android and the web, but the till, the calendar and the reporting are built for an Android tablet. A competitor markets “every feature from any device” as a core belief, and on that specific point they are ahead of us today.
Subscription pricing is not published yet
The pricing page shows the cost model and the processing arithmetic, and will carry the subscription number before launch. It will be printed on the page, not quoted on a call.
Keep your terminal. Keep your rate. Keep every feature.
Groww POS runs on the Dejavoo or PAX terminal you already own — no features held back, no marketplace commission.
