Classes & enrolments
A class is a definition, a session is one occurrence of it, and an enrolment is one person in one session — with capacity, waitlist and attendance following from that rather than bolted on.

What it does
Everything on this list is in the product today. What is not built is on the roadmap, not in this column.
- Class definitions, reused across the schedule Define the class once; every occurrence inherits it.
- Sessions as individual occurrences with their own instructor and room Thursday's cover teacher does not require a second class.
- Enrolments per session, with capacity enforced The room holds what it holds, and the system knows it.
- Waitlist entries promoted when a place frees A cancellation becomes an offer rather than an empty mat.
- Attendance tracked per session Who came, recorded as it happens.
- Class packs and memberships drawn down on attendance The pass loses a session because they attended, not because someone remembered.
- Retail sold through the same till as the class The water and the mat go through the register that took the enrolment.
Studios get sold appointment software with a class feature stapled on
The difference shows up in week two. A substitute instructor, a room change or a cancelled session means editing thirty bookings instead of one session, because the software never had the concept of a session in the first place.
Groww POS models the three things separately because they are separate: the class you offer, the session that happens on Tuesday at six, and the person enrolled in it.
Capacity is a promise to the people in the room
Overselling a class costs more than an empty slot — somebody drove there. Capacity is enforced at enrolment, the waitlist is ordered, and attendance is recorded against the session so the reporting reflects who actually came.
Switch with zero downtime
Changing software mid-season is the thing every owner dreads. Here is exactly how it goes.
- 1
We import your data
Clients, services, staff, price list and future appointments — from a spreadsheet or an export from your current platform.
- 2
You keep trading
Run both systems for a week if you want. Nothing is switched off until your team says so.
- 3
Your terminal stays
Dejavoo or PAX — the hardware you already own and the rate you already have. No re-application, no new merchant account.
Questions we get asked
How is a class different from an appointment?
An appointment is one client in one slot. A class is a reusable definition that produces sessions, each with a capacity, a waitlist and an attendance record — and the reporting question is about sessions, not bookings.
What happens when a session is full?
The waitlist takes further enrolments in order, and a cancellation frees the place for the first person on it.
Can a client pay with a class pack?
Yes. A pack holds a balance that draws down on attendance, and a recurring membership can cover sessions instead.
Can clients enrol themselves?
Not yet. Clients can book appointments themselves in the Groww Customer App, but class enrolment and joining a waitlist are not in it — those are the next two things going into the app. Staff enrol, manage the waitlist and mark attendance from the tablet today.
Works with
- Booking & calendar A horizontal day grid with a column per staff member, room or chair — drag to reschedule, with buffer and cleanup time built into the service rather than remembered by the front desk.
- Memberships & packages Recurring memberships and prepaid packages that hold a real balance — checked at the counter in a tap, drawn down at checkout, and visible on the client record rather than in a notebook.
