What it does

Everything on this list is in the product today. What is not built is on the roadmap, not in this column.

  • Gift card issuance from the point of sale Sold at the counter in the same flow as anything else on the till.
  • Redemption as a real tender — terminal command T06 A tender the terminal actually runs, not a discount typed in to fake one.
  • A gift card ledger, so every issue and redemption has a record Where the balance came from and where it went, line by line.
  • Partial redemption, with the remainder split across other tenders A partly spent card settles what it can and leaves the rest to another tender.
  • Balances that survive a staff change or a busy Saturday The balance lives in the ledger, not in the head of whoever sold it.
  • Gift card sales visible in the end-of-day close Counted with the day's takings rather than remembered separately.

A gift card is a liability, not a marketing gimmick

Somebody paid you for work you have not done yet, and a stranger will walk in months later holding the proof. That only ends well if the balance is real, the history is recorded and any member of staff can settle it without a manager.

Groww POS treats gift cards as a tender with a ledger. Issue at the till, redeem at the till, and the movement is written down both times.

December is the test

Gift card volume is seasonal and the redemption comes when the shop is at its busiest. The path from “here is my card” to “you are done” is three taps, and a partial balance splits onto another tender without leaving the checkout screen.

Switch with zero downtime

Changing software mid-season is the thing every owner dreads. Here is exactly how it goes.

  1. 1

    We import your data

Clients, services, staff, price list and future appointments — from a spreadsheet or an export from your current platform.

  2. 2

    You keep trading

Run both systems for a week if you want. Nothing is switched off until your team says so.

  3. 3

    Your terminal stays

Dejavoo or PAX — the hardware you already own and the rate you already have. No re-application, no new merchant account.

How switching works, step by step

Questions we get asked

Can a gift card cover part of a sale?

Yes. The balance is applied and whatever is left settles across card, cash or any other tender, in the same transaction.

Is there a record of who issued and redeemed each card?

Yes. Every movement is written to the gift card ledger, which is what makes the balance defensible when someone disputes it months later.

Do gift cards show up in the end of day?

Yes — issuance and redemption both close out with everything else rather than being reconciled separately.

Keep your terminal. Keep your rate. Keep every feature.

Groww POS runs on the Dejavoo or PAX terminal you already own — no features held back, no marketplace commission.
